i love ouran still. :O and i'll probably read it on manga fox.
super lee! i just love the costume. and the eye twitch. you know what else is sickening? Valentine's Day
actually, nah.
i think it's my maternal side showing up here, but i keep looking at couples in the same fashion that i look at lolcatz.
i dunno, i survived my high school days dateless and semi-literate. oh wait, i have a couple more months to go. alone. i mean, i'm going to prom with my best bud and it's gonna be sweet but i've heard that prom is not so fun without a date. D:
i have in mind 2 people i could ask, but it's just the same rehash of "uhhh, sorry, we are just buds, right? see you on the wii 2 nite and maybe sometime we see Watchmen when it comes out?"
or i could get "really? prom is soo pointless. i mean it's the high school experience and everything but i party hearty every weekend, girl! we could do something actually fun- like laser tag or something."
or even the dreaded "i'd love to but you're too young and i'm not the material to be caught dead by your parents who think that i'm just a date. i'm pretty sure all your friends will disapprove as well/think you're a loser. i also don't know if i would fight the to urge to start ranting about life and hitting on you at the same time. being jailbait sucks, don't it?"
my response: "OH HAI GIIS, i'm a girl. i have lady parts and all that jazz you haven't seen before. something called smex appeal. sure i don't dance, but i can talk. talk up a hilarious storm. and when i shut up, we can play games the whole evening. calling you a "date" is just obligatory."

btw,
i'm totally ignoring the Scholastics Regional Art show right now. it's just not as important as i thought it was.

so i've been really into BUCK-TICK again, but more specifically, i want Atsushi to make another solo album. and i want to hear more about his kittens. :D he has kitties. this musical slideshow shows this:
and there's this girl on youtube who makes tribute videos with a slideshow of his pictures. i really enjoy them in a creeper kind of way. then again, BUCK-TICK's lyrics are a bit creeper. especially Alice in Wonder Underground.
and i found this treasure of a DVD tour thing: Fest 2007 coverage/ documentary from the PARADE tour (this one is part 6 of Rest Rooms- there is a nice surprise in it):
did i mention Imai's hair looks SUPER terrible here. i mean, seriously, it's like he's the cat lady and not Atsushi. or he was very drunk when he woke up earlier.

too much stuff to do...
so i am cosplaying taru taru.... if i have any money at all that is. and any time in my life to dress up. i don't know how i am going to cover all this academic stuff when i need to focus on art. i have to drop something academic or i will not be able to go to art school with a fair shot/effort. TAT
oh why am i so poor?!?!?!?!?! D:
jk. i just can't purchase any "want" items anymore. all is going to college apps, testing, and school stuff. so glad i decided on not going to the Disney trip- that would have been almost 900 buckaroos down the crapper when my pockets have negative cash.
and i still don't know WTF i am going to do about not having money for food and etc at Ohayocon. pooo.
so i realize that i have practically no money since my franklin is going to pay for the 3 day rooming for Ohayocon + 2nd level prereg ticket.
to make myself feel better about all this, i will make a dream clothing/material possessions list:
ENJOY! XD
1. The Wine Bar Brogues ($25.00) at modcloth with a 10% discount if you use the code NOW10DEC

2. Amethystine Boots (67.50) at modcloth with the same 10% discount. to be honest, these are more practical as i actually need boots.

3. Rock the Boat Tee ($17.99) is a basic 3/4 sleeve tee from modcloth with the same 10% discount.

4. Plaid Punk Fitted Blazer ($28.00) in red or blue from asiajam- though i like that blue a lot:

though both could work well....
5. Tier Collar Sailor Blouse ($25.00) - in black or white, but i'd go with black just for the effect. :D

6. Ruches Crop Pants w/ Large Pockets ($22.00)- i have wanted something like this for awhile. but you also have the more dressy version of it, in the grey Sleek Cuffed Hem Knee Shorts ($26.00)

and yes, i did consider the whole taru taru girl look:

It's a bunny.
anyway, i wanted to update this journal since i have news. saturday was an intense local competition for the band and we were NUMBA ONE. and this was crucial after we were blown away by not making BOA Regionals recently- the first time we have failed in 2 years. but this was a surprising win for us. mainly 'cause we learned most of the show in 2-3days including that very saturday afternoon. ridiculous that we did ok when the stakes were that high. the flags didn't really have a part for the 3rd number, and the rifle work was taught mostly on wed-thurs, reviewed on fri, then altered on sat. ridiculously weird for us to put the work with the band on thurs in JUST the RUN- which was a disaster. but we had it all cleared up on saturday. :D or mostly. there's this stupid flute pass through that i'm still uncomfortable with.
the guard work wasn't as clean as it should have been for a show, but considering the circumstances, it was alright. still can't believe we didn't get best guard when everything we do (at least technique-wise) is on a high level than most local guards. winterguard last year was the same way because Northmont needed to move up a class and we were newbies in Open class- even the Kings guard parents thought we should have beat them in MEPA. w/e.
i got to shake hands with Zydeco afterwards. that made it all better. :D
i got a new phone and it takes pics and text so now i'm all up to date on the youngin' technology n' shiz. but i still text like i am dyslexic or have premature arthiritis. L O L I T I S S O S w E ET.. @_@
i have mucho things to do for AP Bio and AP Stats... AP Portfolio is the same panic attack as it has always been. D: CP portfolio is slightly better, but i am just lazy so i tend to take much more time than is needed to do things.
and i have met someone that i find cute, but boring. i don't know how to remedy this without being offensive or elitist. and i feel like a cougar. all the time. DAMN.
and i love how there is this new DOMO HALLOWEEN stuff at Target. you will see a pic of me with my DOMO hat inside the DOMO decor of Target soon.
but enjoy this for now:

p.s. i love The Cure and feel horrible for finding Robert Smith sooo unattractive.

i haven't updated because i had band camp for 2 weeks, home and away in Xenia. just when the week had ended, the clouds and skyline on friday was breathtaking. REALLY GORGEOUS.

and then my family sat down to watch the beijing olympics....and i realized how one of the 4 guys of the Chinese Gymnastics team is from Changsha, and the "pretty guy" of the bunch. Seriously, pretty cute. :D

5'3, 114lbs, 27 yrs... much better than me!! ;________________; *sob*
i did check my blogs as soon as i got back, and this is too cute! do you remember your first time tasting lemon?
i was not this adorable! EVAR!!!!!!!!!!!
but i am tan. too tan. blazian tan. kimora lee simmons "baby phat" tan. OH GAWD, i will be shunned forever.
i gotta do my AP Bio and AP art stuff this week. so it's crunch time for me before school starts. and i have to sign up for driving school after november (aka marching band season ends).
i also had plans with Laura and Parrott, but it FAIL'd completely as Laura never called me back.... and Parrott had to work the weekend at KI.

seriously, look at this:
i mean, besides the whole hooker ordeal, it's not bad. but that internet cafe was totally racist. D:
the bum sleeping ON the computers was probably the best.
i really wanna see the new batman movie. 'cause Heath Ledger is scary cool when he's dead. :D
yeas. the 500 miles song.
btw, while i was youtubing GTA4 clips, i got rickrolled 3 times. :D i enjoyed 2/3 of those times. @_@
secretly, i have been listening to 80's hits. and misses.

i loved this series. short, but really sweet.
and i don't care what people think, Namikiri was da bomb. especially at the end when he started to have some stubble, or maybe it was just penciled in. either way, it was attractive. :{D
i mean, the Arashi guy who played Soshi is pretty, but sorta artificially so.
i prefer that Eiji Wentz from WaT. just 'cause mixes are usually beautiful. it's a gamble to see how the kids turn out, but they are exceptionally handsome.
and i have to catch up on Gokusen 3 (this series is kinda getting long-winded, but the manga really is hilarious. )
really, Yankumi should just get with that gym teacher. he's sooo desperate, but not fugly. GOOD CHOICE. a sensitive guy couldn't handle her crazy masculinity. or her bizarre yakuza background.
btw, both of these jdoramas have origins in manga, you can read them at OneManga (i recommend Gokusen, but Zettai Kareshi shojo is actually a high school story, so it's kinda cheesy and loosely illustrated by Yuu Watase of the Fushigi Yugi fame*)
*i have nothing against her style, but this series was short and lacking in her usual charm. the work was sloppy compared to her forte.
Fushigi Yugi also dragged on way too long for an anime. that is what turns me off certain mangas and doramas- if they're too long and emotionally draining without some comedic breaks (creative, not repetitive), i feel like i'm wasting time reading it.
for instance, Golden Bride is a great k-drama, but it's high octane on emotions. and usually not that happy as you continue to watch. you find yourself struggling to feel satisfied, even though you may have spent the week watching it back to back (which i had done before). i end up fast forwarding parts and watching recaps. there are great parts to it, but it's like The Notebook on crack.
as for mangas, i'm not going to elaborate on how shojo manga creates exaggerated impossible standards for love. though it seems like For Better Or For Worse takes the same "perfect world" format.
the shojos i like are usually shounen-ai, comedy/romance (Wallflower, Your and My Secret, and simplistic (Clover, Legal Drug, etc)
but my all time favs are hybrid mangas, with a shounen pacing and detail, but some romantic elements. Ranma is a classic, and so is Inuyasha, but Full Metal Panic! is like gold for me. Bleach comes in as a close second currently, but Samurai Deeper Kyo and Blade are old-skool.

i probably shouldn't have said that i was Reah's adopted sister.
but that would probably be hilarious. i'm also not sure if those people at DCI knew i was kidding. all i remember from DCI was Andi professing her love to the Cavaliers' pit, being scary close to the Cavaliers' guard as they walked past us, and gawking at how in shape all of them were. there were more asians present in the stands and the field this time.
and i totally skipped red rhythm and boom tonight. but i'll be partying it up tomorrow. seeing fireworks.
today had some rain, and so my mom decided to skip the asian grocery trip. but then it stopped raining mostly in the afternoon. so when i told Reah we'd go at 12, that's what i expected. but my mom decided to sleep in, and so Reah made other plans and mom and i went for groceries at 4/5ish. and i bought some goodies for Reah+family.
on saturday, i'll be back from Reah's and i'll be taking the temps thing at the dmv. i should have done this in nov. but i was lazy and preoccupied with schoolwork to cram that in. and i need to start driving now, so i need the temps. so i'm not all illegal- i am a naturalized citizen, but not a driver. and not all asians are bad at driving. some are overly cautious. some are just stupid. some are ok at it.
after that, my mom want us to go to a korean restaurant. but i'm kinda skeptical if it's authentic enough.
i also figured out how to put up a secure bun with 6 bobby pins, no hair ties. :D i am the master....

yeass. i found it, Leah.
Tarepanda! (click on name for animation) it's on a online retail shop, shopkawaii.comso adorable!!!!!!
i'm also a fan of Afro Ken and Kogepan. especially Kogepan.

Kogepan means "Burnt Bread" in Japanese. He was made of the best bean ingredient, but he was accidentally left too long in the oven and got burnt. No customers wanna buy a burnt piece of bread, so Kogepan's life purpose of being a delicious bread is left unfulfilled. Kogepan got a bit depressed at times thinking about it, and he may be found drinking milk (Kogepan gets drunk on milk), smoking or trying to pretend to be one of the popular breads at the bakery.
THAT'S THE BEST STORY EVER!!!!!!!!!!
of course, many people have seen Mamegoma the seal, Relax Bear, and Monokuro Boo the pigs, but Tire Dog seems a little cruel.

Tire Dog is a dog with his head stuck in a tire. Why and how? We are not sure either. He does move faster when he rolls on the tire. Does he get dizzy? Probably, but we are not sure. He has other doggie friends, like chair dog and hanger dogs. (from the website description...WTF?)
anyway, this post was just to list some places that i hang out in on the interwebz. so peeps could see what i do. so egotistical, right? nah, i just like communication.

in other news, i could be a true blasian gangsta, thanks to a revelation of my maiden names. that's right...names. i go by my dad's last name, but my mom's last name is different. and together, with a hyphen, they form WU-TANG!!!! YEAASSS. i'z be stylin' wit it.
and i might be watching 4th of july fireworks on a roof. how American! :D maybe my assimilation into this culture is a little too smooth. so smooth, like stainless titanium body of my wired body. FOR I AM...

since last week, i've been sleeping around midnight/1 am. but then again, i nap for a couple hours thoughout the day.
THIS POST IS IMAGE HEAVY!
so i finally talked to Mom about what places we'll go in China next summer. NEATO! *nods* though some of the schedule for it is unplanned, we've decided on at least 2 destinations, Guilin and Zhangjiajie. Both are natural/historic preserved landmarks. mainly we'd skip the big places like the Great Wall and Bejing (though maybe we'd stop by the city) since we've been there and it's very touristy/crowded. But my parents have considered going to other cities to visit relatives, such as Shanghai and maybe Hong Kong. We'd go to Wuhan fo sho, since i've got some peeps there. most of the trip will be eating and shopping and walking all over the place.

i'll be training guard stuff almost daily, doing AP HW, summer school shiz, and trying to do more art stuff this summer.
and it's amazing how fast this will go. really.
recently, i've been listening to some "eclectic" artists. and it's very NICE. I like.
Fujiya & Miyagi: pretty funky strings...
dammmnnn that's some awesome possum.
i gotta put some Daft Punk here:
and those 2 boys from Justice are tight:
Sebastien Tellier is fun (video is NSFW):
Yann Tiersen has a multitalented mind:
Malajube are my fave frenchy indie band (and i like Citrus Juice):
surprisingly to many, i don't like Bjork much. i'll say she's talented, fo sho, but it's not my taste. :/
Kings of Convenience and the side band, The Whitest Boy Alive, create my mellow tunes:
and i love Flight of The Conchords:

really, it was hot today- i walked home and i played video games with Reah. just Reah, 'cause our third musketeer was MIA. and i called 9 times. i totally asked the other day if Ken-Ken was free, and she said yeas...so it was weird how she was a no-show. she couldn't have slept through the whole day. so it better have been important shiz that she had to deal. though i hear she might be getting a kitten! @_@ i loves them kitties.
i ate sooo many calories today. :D rice porridge w/ anchovies and roasted peanuts, topped with some thai chili paste. then for lunch+dinner, 2 scoops of rich ice cream and a half n' half of taco and large burrito today at Taqueria Maya. Reah was more for Sichuan Bistro, but i wasn't in the mood... :S i ate chinese everyday. so get over it, ho.
as for video games, i have to admit that i was more afraid playing Silent Hill with someone there than without anyone. kinda weird since my basement makes crazy noises. and it was fun to play ping pong with someone who sucks like me. and that sounded nasty. ewwww.
i also cussed a whole lot during it, 'cause i forgot how annoying first person story arcs are. Henry isn't even hot or interesting and the Cynthia is skankeeeeee. but i do have to applaud the ambient sounds of the game. they got creepy down right.
and now i want Champions. just so i can be Wood Elf. or that lizard guy.
to be honest, i don't really have any video games anymore- i did sell a lot of games (like Harvest Moon and many gameboy stuffs). just DDR, katamari damacy, and that dinky little demo. mainly 'cause i don't play that much... don't have the time and extreme interest/monies.
if i would play anything nowadays, it's probably DDR or Soul Caliber. and maybe if i find my memory card, finish Star Ocean- i really need to beat the boss in that church.
as for internet things, since Reah mentioned that she was going to be bored for 3 or 4 days out of the weekdays, i'm posting some goodies.
Kdrama, Jdrama, Cdrama, Tdrama (Taiwan) can be watched on Mysoju:
Fated To Love You (Tdrama, kinda cheesy and candid romance)
Absolute Boyfriend (Jdrama, romance with robots? not as creepy as it sounds)
Coffee Prince (Kdrama, interesting romance, very recommended for Gong Yoo's smexy bod)
Who Are You (Kdrama, more family drama than romance, it has a ghost dad)
Golden Bride (Kdrama, really intense- i'm talking full attention to the high-strung drama)
Densha Otoko (Jdrama, recommended for the stereotypical depiction of otaku culture)
Great Teacher Onizuka (Jdrama, high school comedy about rockin roll rebel teacher)
Nobuta wo Produce (Jdrama, just kinda cute)
Hotaru no Hikari (Jdrama, the first one i watched, it's a nice story)
A Moment To Remember (Kmovie, like asian version of The Notebook)
200 Pounds Of Beauty (Kmovie, funny love and self-growth girlie movie, but very cute)
Seducing Mr. Perfect (Kmovie, hot male actor)
100 days with Mr. Arrogant (Kmovie, hot male actor)
Waterboys (Jmovie, hilarous kid with afro)
Moonchild (Jmovie, awesome casting)
funny mangas i recommend on Onemanga:
Gokusen*, Perfect Girl Evolution*, Beck, Black Lagoon, Bleach, D. Grayman, Deathnote*, Detective Conan (i love the cartoon series), Gantz, Full Metal Panic! (the fumoffu series is comedy gold), Gyo*, Gintama, Kurosagi, Mushishi*, Ouran High Host Club, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Tenjou Tenge, Uzumaki*, Yakitate Japan!*
* starred are ones more in Reah's taste, or amusment.
some funny webcomics/blogs (i already posted some links to this on a previous entry, so just google it or search it on my LJ):
Kate Beaton's comics (beatonna on LJ)
VGcats
Octopus Pie
Perry Bible Fellowship (recommended)
The Girl Who Ate Everything (blog of food, she mentions some asian goodies)
Stuff White People Like (blog based off of book)
Awkward Zombie (a video game comic by a young lass way more talented than me)
Penny Arcade (video game comic)
Press Start To Play (video game comic)
Punks and Nerds (crazy cannabis comic of epic crazies, i just love the art)
Dr. McNinja (just plain awesome, a superhero comic)
Superdickery (scanned wartime comic covers of Superman's pissy attitude towards everybody- bizarre and flipping laughable)
and that's all i got for now, i hope you enjoy, Reah-chan.

yes, my nonexistent love life will end with smirnoff. or some other super proof liqueur.
damn banana manho!
but really, it's like past midnight and i'm kinda not really studying for my SATs. which maybe bad...yeah, it probably is.
but i'm free this weekend. any takers?
i had a weird dream about golden shoes and showing up to guard practice like a trendy neon scene kid. *shudders* ugh. how about NO?
i cut my hair- lengthwise, that is, but nobody has really noticed. :s i'm confuzzled on how i'm perceived all the time, but this was kinda weird for me.
and that one kid is now dating somebody, even though it looks short-lived. or maybe i'm just heartless. XD
and i can't find leah's other LJ.
so it's all "argh, my life is just blah blah" and i'm thinking about this guy i met a year ago at a con. aren't i lameass? yeah, 'cause it's hard for me to pick up flirtation and i recognized his automatically...which goes to show how desperate that he presented himself upfront. or how dense i was in that situation. and i had called him a long time ago and his sister picked up, yelled for him, adding her comment "are you cheating on Cathy?" or whatever his then gf's name was while i was on the phone. i think i hung up after that. yeah.
my dad also asked if i thought he looked old on friday. like i judge middle-aged men in my free time. actually, yeah, i do if they are celebs or musicians that are amazing. but on a usual basis, i don't mind much. i am not a nymphet
